Balikbayan Boxes with Love ripped by Bureau of Customs

Balikbayan Boxes. This is one of the most significant topic firing in social media, newspapers, television, and everywhere else in the last several days. Our very own Bureau of Customs adding taxes to these boxes sent from abroad by all our fellow OFWs. Not just that, they are taking the extra mile of opening the boxes, dilapidating what you have lovingly arranged for months & days.

As an OFW myself, I was flabbergasted, angry beyond words by how this BOC treats their people to whom they so-called mga Buhay na Bayani. These boxes serve as our love letters to our families back home. We pour all our love, resources & time in filling & arranging everything we could afford. When these BOC people starts to randomly open these love letters to check what they could tax or what they could ransacked, it is as if the government is really trying to rip our hearts. How could they do this to people they call "Boss." As an employee, how could you contempt your Bosses by ripping, reading, & even stealing the content of the letters? What kind of employees we have in our government?

We have so much things to fix in our government. Why can't BOC do the cleaning & sweeping in their own backyard first? The most corrupt institution of the government wherein a normal salary-grade employee could  own a Porsche sports car! Why can't they go after those smugglers who could ran away with luxury cars paying very minimal taxes because it matters who they know and how much they can afford in BOC. Why go after these boxes which are product of love, sacrifices, sweat, & blood of each & every OFWs. 

We, the ordinary people are always an easy-target. Always the receiving end of every bullshit happening in our government, in our country. Yes! There is so much bullshit happening. The public outcry to fix the MRT, making lives of every Filipino commuter in Manila a living hell everyday. Why can't we start from there? Why can't the government give the ordinary citizen the importance of basic needs? Why can't they give us the treatment we truly deserves being the BOSS? 

I have always been a believer of Daang Matuwid by Pnoy Administration. But this time, it is a total disgrace to what they have boasting for since 2010. Epic failure! Election time is just around the corner. This is truly not doing good for the administration. Better fix this right before the repercussions will be out of control.
